E-mail code of conduct
The e-mail code of conduct indicates the procedures observed by the Ministry in receiving, answering and archiving e-mail. Anyone sending an e-mail will receive a confirmation indicating how soon an initial response can be expected.
The e-mail handling procedure distinguishes between simple and complex questions. Simple questions involve known facts or procedures and must be answered within two working days. Complex questions or requests may take more time. In any event, the sender will be informed of the expected handling time within five working days. If the Ministry anticipates that it will not be able to meet a handling deadline as promised, it will immediately inform the sender and set a new deadline. E-mail is archived securely, according to the same rules as observed for letters.
