Annual reports
All ministries publish an annual financial report and an annual social report on the third Wednesday of March each year. The combined annual financial report of all ministries is presented to the Netherlands Court of Audit (Algemene Rekenkamer). This office monitors whether the national government has spent funds and carried out policy as intended.
Since 2002 the government has given an account of its policy according to the ‘from policy budget to policy accountability’ system. This manner of budgeting and accounting for actions is intended to establish a clear link between policy, performance and funds.
The annual social report is a fixed component of the account the Cabinet gives to the Lower House of Parliament in May. The report describes the developments within the national government regarding personnel, from recruitment to outflow.
